HARDOX® WEAR PLATE FOR EXTREME ABRASION RESISTANCE & STRENGTH

Some EVEREST EQUIPMENT bodies are built with Hardox® material for optimum abrasion resistance and strength. Hardox® wear plate is the world’s leading abrasion-resistant steel. This premium wear and abrasion resistant steel is hard, tough and workshop friendly, giving you extended service life and high productivity in the most challenging environments. Hardox helps you improve vehicle performance and productivity, extend service life and create lighter vehicles. Upgrading is easy and brings great benefits.

Hardox enables to use thinner plates in your equipment and components. And thinner plates mean lower weight, more payload and increased profitability. Some of our customers have achieved weight reductions up to 15% after consideration of buckling, deflection and fatigue strength in their designs. Upgrading to Hardox enables you to increase service life or create lighter vehicles and, in some cases, do both. Because of Hardox steel’s workshop-friendly qualities, upgrading is usually a smooth process.

EVEREST “MR” HI-TENSILE DUMP BODY

Built with Hardox 450 material for optimum abrasion resistance and strength, EVEREST “MR” Hi-Tensile dump body‘s floor, sides, head sheet and tailgate are comprised of Hardox 450 205,000 psi steel.

BENEFITS OF HARDOX

Superior hardness — offering excellent wear resistance, Hardox features all-around hardness that doesn’t impact structural performance.

Excellent toughness — Hardox is able to resist cracks if subjected to deformation and can withstand heavy blows, allowing it to be easily bent, formed, and welded. Combined with its high yield strength, this durability also allows for the creation of lightweight designs.

Consistency — Hardox retains its properties and strength even in severe, harsh conditions — and also during precision bending and forming, as well as precision welding and MIG welding — allowing for predictable, reliable results.

Long service life — Hardox can double, or even triple, equipment wear plate service life, optimizing performance while minimizing the risk of damage.

1. Longer wear life, longer uptime and lower lifetime cost.

The additional 50 Brinell hardness gained by upgrading to Hardox 450 will increase the wear life. Case studies show that it is possible to achieve up to 50% greater wear life, and even more for some applications.

2. Lower lifetime cost

In these cost-conscious times, you’ll appreciate how longer wear life can lower your maintenance and equipment replacement costs, adding up to total savings.

3. Lower weight

Hardox 450 enables you to use thinner plates in your equipment and components. And thinner plates mean lower weight, more payload and increased profitability. Some of our customers have achieved weight reductions up to 15% after consideration of buckling, deflection and fatigue strength in their designs.

4. Improved dent resistance

Upgrading from Hardox 400 to Hardox 450 improves dent resistance as shown below. In this test, a weight of 300 kg (661 lbs) is dropped from a height of 2.8 m (9.2 ft) onto a test plate 600 x 600 mm (23.6 x 23.6 in).
